Alex Bell is presently working as the Community and Business Engagement Coordinator at Vancouver Midtown ESC for Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS). Alex has more than thirty years experience working in social services, education and employment in numerous roles. Having worked with youth and newcomers in preparing them for their careers in Canada, Alex can share about the common challenges many face when they start working in a unfamiliar work environment and workplace culture.
Karen Flynn, Professional Coach and Business Mentor
Karen Flynn is an entrepreneurial business leader with a collaborative nature and a deep background in communication and branding. She worked with international brands from Eruope, UK, USA and spent 22 years in total in Asia Pacific before returning home to Vancouver. As a entrepreneur who built a succesful communication agency in SE Asia, Karen is an expert in delivering messages to millennials of diverse backgrounds. Also a mentor to newcomers and international students, Karen has a wealth of knowledge to share about working in a multicultural environment.
Leila Jahani, Branch Manager, RBC
Leila Jahani is a passionate Banker with more than 15 years’ experience with RBC Royal Bank where she held different positions. Currently she is the manager of 3 RBC branches in Yaletown and Olympic Village areas. At the same time, she is a hiring manager, a mentor for new immigrants and a philanthropist who wants to help people new to Canada through sharing her experience from her own journey.

Stefan is currently the Talent Requisition Specialist at PaybyPhone , a parking solutions app with its roots in Vancouver that has expanded globally. As an immigrant and a recruiter, Stefan can talk about his own experience in learning about Canadian workplace culture and how it shapes his hiring decisions.
