About the Event

FOODSAFE Level 1 is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course designed for front line food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers.

One of our staff will get back to you via phone to complete the registration. 

First come, first serve.

LIMITED SPOTS. 

Upon completion of this free course, attendees will received certification issued by Vancouver Coastal Health Department.

This course covers:

· Causes of food borne illness

· Microbes and food borne illness

· Food safety plans and HACCP

· Food handler health and hygiene

· Receiving and storing food safely

· Preparing food safely

· Serving food safely

· Cleaning, sanitizing and pest control

· Premises requirements

Eligibility: work/study permits, PNP nominees, refugee claimants, and naturalized citizens.

Attendees will abide by Covid protocols set in place for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. premises which includes social distancing and manditory face masks. There will be a 45 min lunch in which attendees have to vacate the premises.

BC Settlement and Integration Services (BCSIS) is one of the many programs within S.U.C.C.E.S.S., a multicultural, multi-service social service agency. BCSIS is funded by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs to provide support to post-secondary international students, foreign workers who hold a valid work permit, PNP applicants, refugee claimants in employment, settlement, and exploring immigration pathways. Naturalized citizens are eligible for employment services.
